Welcome to my blog! I know there are a million and one blogs out there, so I'm so very appreciative that you've taken the time to stop by my humble blog. I plan to keep it mainly focused on reviews of different skincare, haircare and makeup items that I am using. I by no means think I am an expert on any of these. I just hope to show you my own experiences. Please take everything with grain of salt since everybody is different and has his/her own skin and hair types. These are just things that worked (or didn't work) for me. So let's get started:
I would describe my skin as combination. I usually have dry-ish cheeks but an oiler T-zone. My color is usually light, fair or whatever the lighter colors usually are.
My favorite skincare (for over 15 years now)
Clinique Facial Soap (for oily skin) and Clarifying Lotion #2
Like I said, I have been using these for over 15 years now, and I feel like my skin would not be in such good shape without them. I have only had one major pimple my whole life, and that was at a time when I was trying out some other products. I have also used the mild soap at times, but I still feel like the oily soap works better. I have also tried using Clarifying Lotion #2 but it was too stripping.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion & Gel
Personally I like the gel a lot more because it feels lighter on the skin. For a while, all the samples of the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion (DDML) that came with the gifts with purchase were either thrown away, given away or sat at the back of the shelf. However, this past winter I realized that my skin was becoming much more dry, so the gel wasn't doing it for me anymore. So I did go out and get the lotion as well, so now I have both. I use them depending on the season and of course the weather of the day. Unfortunately neither has any SPF, so I usually have to mix them with something that has SPF.
So that's my favorite skincare. I always have them at hand (and sometimes even have backups...). However, I am not against trying other products. So I'll slowly introduce some of my other skincare items and what I like (and don't like) about them.
On to haircare... I'm not extremely loyal to any specific brand. I like to change it up, and often have more than one bottle of shampoo and conditioner open at once. But I do stick with brands that have been proven to have good results, and shy away from brands that just don't seem to work.
Currently using: Aussie shampoo and Dove conditioner (I'll have a review coming up on my Dove treatment)
I am not an expert on makeup. However, I love eye products and lip glosses & balms (something is in every jacket pocket and bag I own.) So I will definitely let you know about things that I like and that I don't like.
Current favorites:
- Mascara: L'oreal Telescopic Clean Definition mascara (I'm also using CoverGIrl Exact Eyelights Waterproof mascara but I don't like it as much. I would definitely say that it is very waterproof, though.)
- Eyeshadows: Clinique No-show Taupes (I love brown/nudes)
- Lip balms: Aveeno Essential Moisture Lip Conditioner (I also really like SoftLips products)
- Lip gloss: CoverGirl Wetslicks AmazeMint (I love these so much I bought several backups)
That's all I have for now. Here are my upcoming reviews:
- Dove hair treatment
- Various skin treatments I got from Asia
- All the various face cleansers I have open right now (sadly this is somewhere in the range of 8-10)
Welcome to the blogosphere! :) I like to change up my haircare every once in a while too.
